Miles actually gives an answer I personally like:
"...Ephesians 3:20 says 'Now to Him who can do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us.' God can do exceedingly abundantly. Now when I say 'impossible' I don't mean 'dear God, I want to be the president of the United States next year.' That is NOT going to happen. That's not the impossible we are talking about. There are some things that will not happen because God does not contradict Himself...these 2 teenagers came up to me after church a couple years ago and said 'if God can do everything can he create a rock that He can't lift?'...the problem is that God can't do anything. God cannot do everything... God cannot lie, He cannot sin. He cannot deny is own character, He cannot deny His own word. He cannot deny His own son. He has even put limitations on Himself that are righteousness. God cannot be tempted by evil, He cannot deceive you. He just can't. It goes against His character. So when I say 'praying the impossible,' you are praying for stuff that you can never do except with God's help. And I'm talking about over coming addiction. I'm talking about 'God heal this relationship with this person that I've always had a problem with'....I want to pray Lord that I am excited about my life. That's a big thing...Cuz I bet there's a whole bunch of y'all who are not happy with your life, and God has blessed you with so many opportunities to be happy. Pray the impossible...That's what we should pray."
hmm, God cannot do everything. He doesn't contradict Himself. duuhh.. how can I not have thought of such a simple, sensible answer after all these years?

Point #3, Praying in the Spirit means Praying the Impossible
